The Cultural Foundation Building, open throughout the duration of the festival, will host a series of interactive activities celebrating the collective memory linked to it.
You are invited to participate in a united reflection of memories and activities that will bring the building back to life.
Artist Commissions
The festival presents a selection of commissioned artworks from Emirati artists who will be on display throughout the Cultural Foundation Building and its surroundings.
The artworks, inspired by the theme of Emirati culture, heritage and modern identity, will allow visitors to view the rich cultural past of the UAE through a modern day lens.
Works by featured artists include:
Abdulla Al Saadi
Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim
Zaynab Al Hashemi
Cinema Emaratiya
In line with the Cultural Foundation’s tradition of hosting film seasons, the centre’s Amphitheatre will host a cine-whatson dedicated to a selection of documentaries, performance films and animated short movies that will be screened on a daily basis.
The films have been carefully selected from a portfolio of short films which have been produced by twofour54 in support of the Emirati film scene.
Community Programme
The festival is backed by a strong team of Abu Dhabi partners who promote the culture of the UAE. Visitors are welcome to learn about their initiatives that seek to engage the community.
This year’s participants include the National Archives, the National Library and twofour54’s Creative Lab.
Each of these partners will showcase the mission of their institution and how it is intrinsically linked to the preservation and celebration of Abu Dhabi and the Unites Arab Emirates culture and history.
